In the spirit of recognizing senior citizens for World Senior Citizens Day, The Martin Luther King Jr Celebration Committee (MLKCC) sponsored its second Senior Citizen Recognition Day on August 19th at the GMZ Event Center in Brazoria. “Books, minds, and umbrellas only work if they are opened!”  This quote spoke volumes at the Greater Mount Zion Church in Brazoria 12th Annual Dream Camp that was held on July 10-14, 2023. The Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Committee was right there to support the camp with a Book Fair. The Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Committee is pleased to announce the winners of the Poster and Essay Contest. Students from various schools throughout Brazoria County along with their parents, grandparents and other family members gathered on February 23 at Brazosport College. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in both categories received a medal and a check from the MLKCC.
