
Old Town Reunion – $1,500
The Old Town Reunion organization has been in existence for 15 years with a primary focus on sponsoring a reunion for individuals who currently live in the Brazoria, Texas area, have previously lived in the area, or have been a member of a church in this community. This is an annual event which includes a historical narration of Brazoria, TX. Attendees are asked to donate to the preservation of “The Hut”, a historical facility in this community.

George Washington Carver H.S. – $2,500
The Quick Start Program (Phase III) supports high school graduates in earning certifications that prepare them for successful entry into the workforce. Available certifications include Welding, Phlebotomy, CNA, Pharmacy Technician, LVN, HVAC Technician, Cosmetology, Barbering, Veterinary Technician, and CDL Truck Driving. In addition to technical training, the program provides mentorship and guidance to help students continue their education and develop the professional skills necessary for long-term, gainful employment.

Spoons of Hope (SOH) – $5,000
Spoons of Hope is a grassroots nonprofit that has served the Brazosport area for more than 30 years, focusing on homeless individuals, senior citizens, displaced youth, and children struggling with hunger. The organization serves nutritious meals on a regular basis, ensuring that underserved families receive both nourishment and care. Beyond food, Spoons of Hope provides dignity, human connection, and a renewed sense of hope for a brighter future. The program also raises community awareness about hunger and encourages ongoing support for county residents in need.

MIMS COMMUNITY CENTER – $3,500
The purpose of this center is to unite families and communities in the south end communities of Brazoria County by providing an atmosphere of stability, peace and prosperity. This center is used as a meeting location for religious groups, educational classes, social gatherings, community celebrations, voting facilities, health fairs, and wellness programs for area residents. This grant will help to provide a more accommodating comfortable safe environment for residents (replacing outdated/ broken tables, chairs, provide a new refrigerator, and new freezer at the facility).

MOSAIC IN ACTION – $3,000
This 501(c)(3) organization, founded in 2018, is dedicated to supporting resiliency and preserving affordable housing along the Texas Gulf Coast and in Brazoria County. The program focuses on repairing homes impacted by storms, hurricanes, tornadoes, aging infrastructure, and mold damage.
The initiative operates in two parts, Roof Repair and Replacement and General Home Repair – including insulation and sheetrock, flooring, painting, and siding.
Through these efforts, the program helps ensure that vulnerable families can remain in safe, stable, and affordable housing.

Rho Xi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi – $4,000
This project brings the joy of Christmas to school-aged children (ages 6–18) from low-income families in Brazoria County. Families gather to enjoy a festive holiday program that includes a hearty meal, a visit with Santa, and the distribution of a variety of gifts including some bicycles. The celebration not only provides needed support during the holiday season but also fosters community spirit, hope, and lasting memories for children and their families.

Sweeny Lions Club – $5,000
This project will install publicly accessible exercise equipment in Sweeny’s MLK Park, creating a free, outdoor fitness space for the community. The initiative promotes physical activity, encourages healthier lifestyles, and provides families—especially those who cannot afford a gym membership—with accessible opportunities to exercise together in a safe and welcoming environment.

Calvin Phillips Scholarship Foundation – $2,000
The Calvin Phillips Scholarship Foundation was established to honor the legacy of the late Coach Calvin Phillips by supporting student-athletes in their pursuit of higher education. The foundation’s mission is to recognize and assist deserving graduating seniors who participated in varsity basketball at the schools where Coach Phillips served. Through scholarships, the foundation helps these students continue their education while carrying forward the values of dedication, teamwork, and excellence that Coach Phillips instilled.

Southern Dolls – $3,000
Southern Dolls is a mentorship-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering young women through programs that build confidence, leadership, and sisterhood. The organization’s mission is to guide young women into becoming prepared, self-aware, and community-minded adults. Current initiatives include empowerment workshops and community service projects, with college tours planned for the coming year. All programs are offered free of charge to participants, ensuring that every young woman has access to opportunities for growth and development.

Wildcat Social Club – $2,500
This club is dedicated to honoring community heroes—including teachers, first responders, the Freeport Police Department, Fire Department/EMS, veterans, nurses, and healthcare workers. The club recognizes their service through meals, gift baskets, and certificates of appreciation. In addition, the organization provides scholarships to local high school graduates, supports foster care families, and visits nursing homes to uplift residents. The club also works to preserve and honor the legacy of Freeport’s historic Lanier High School.

New Jerusalem Seasoned Saints – $3,000
This ministry serves elderly (65+) and disabled county residents by providing lunch, entertainment, and fellowship twice a month. In addition, take-home snacks are distributed to help supplement diets between gatherings. The program also shares health-related information and resources to support wellness and improve quality of life for participants.
